Essay
My primary purpose in life is not entirely clear-cut yet, but I do believe that I am meant to pursue a career in chemistry. Chemistry, and really any STEM field, allows me to continue asking “why?” about everything in the world, and I love that. I have always been curious, and science gives me the opportunity to keep learning and exploring those questions. I also believe that part of my purpose is continuing to grow in my relationship with God. I grew up in a Christian household, and I am incredibly grateful for the foundation that it gave me. There is a quote I heard in the show Lessons in Chemistry that says, “Science is the how, but religion is the why.” I feel like that quote perfectly embodies what I believe. During my time in college, I plan to pursue both of these passions by continuing to deepen my relationship with God while also continuing to ask questions and seek knowledge through science. I never want to shy away from curiosity, growth, or learning, because I believe those experiences will help guide me toward my purpose.
