Community & Extracurricular Involvement

#1: I have taken on a leadership role in my research group, where I guide the direction of our experimental trials. Beyond managing the day-to-day operations, I see my leadership as a responsibility to foster a collaborative environment where we can safely learn from our mistakes. For me, leading this project is about more than the results; it is about mentoring others and ensuring that our collective curiosity stays focused on finding sustainable solutions that could one day benefit the public.
#2: In my previous internship at AMD, I have found that true professional involvement means going beyond the assigned task to ensure the final product is as reliable as possible. I view my work there as an extracurricular commitment to quality, I am constantly looking for ways to improve our processes because I care about the end-user. This role has taught me that the most impactful contribution an engineer can make is to be a dependable advocate for the person on the other side of the technology.
#3: Outside of the lab, I am deeply committed to supporting my peers at UCF. Whether I am helping a fellow student navigate a difficult course or participating in student organizations, I find immense value in creating a supportive community. I believe that engineering is a team effort, and by sharing my own experiences and lessons learned, I strive to make the path forward a little easier for those coming up behind me. This is my way of giving back to the campus that has helped me grow so much.

Essay

My purpose is to use engineering as a way to serve others, ensuring the technology people rely on every day is safe, sustainable, and dependable. I find deep meaning in bridging the gap between abstract science and the real-world needs of the people I’m building for. I pursue this during college by treating my education as a constant conversation between theory and practice. I dive into the "why" in my classrooms at UCF, then immediately look for ways to apply that knowledge in my professional and research roles. By moving between the lab and the industry, I’m learning how to be a more grounded, thoughtful engineer. My goal is to remain a curious, humble student, one who never stops learning and who is always focused on leaving every project, and every team I work with, better than I found them.
