I am filled with perseverance. Coming from an immigrant family, without a blueprint to follow, I have had to fight to make a name for myself and for them, especially in the midst of pursuing medicine. I have endured various failures in my pursuit of finding my place in the medical field: watching my peers receive internship opportunities, missing chances while networking in clubs, and not getting into the Columbia medical program I deeply desired. Through this, I have learned that my purpose in life is to persevere. No matter what is thrown against me, I will continue to push through. Throughout college, I will tenaciously search for and capture opportunities to expand my research on the effects of sleep deprivation. I will lay my character bare in front of doctors and physicians to prove that I am a vessel of patience and determination, ready to expand my knowledge.
